Also, I thought I might share the whole interview that I initially had with Cosmo, might give you guys a bit more of an insight into where I'm coming from :)

When did you start Flair to Remember?
May 14th this year, so I've been blogging for around 6 months now!
How did the idea come about?
I have a intense love of fashion, colour, design, style and nostalgia which I feel sometimes are quite superficial things for me to be obsessed with. I try not to talk about these things all the time so that I seem like a well rounded individual...but if I could talk about them all day I probably would! I notice that when someone gets me rolling on one of these subjects, a million words spew out my mouth so fast I feel the poor person who got me started can't keep up!
I thought I would start Flair To Remember as an outlet for me to rave/rant about all things inspirational/style-related. I think it's fantastic that a lot of people are sharing their thoughts/photos/inspiration through blogs and communities such as Chictopia, and I felt like being an active contributor to this discussion/conversation rather than just an observer. Sharing is caring!
I also thought that meeting other like minded souls from around this globe would be a blessing.
(As an ode to my love for fashion of decades gone by, I deemed Flair To Remember a fabulous namesake, inspired by the adorable 1957 movie An Affair To Remember.)
How does the blog work?
There isn't really a plan or procedure or anything, but it seems people really enjoy outfit posts the most, so I try to catalogue my outfits when I have had a chance to get my husband to photograph them for me! I also try and put a positive vibe out there and I hope that people leave my blog happy, so I have added a new feature 'thought of the day' where I post inspirational quotes I have found and love. I also update with recent purchases, inspiration + general things I adore! Also, I try to reply to every comment I get, as people have gone out of their way to find my blog + taken the time to comment, so I try and create a dialogue there so they know they are appreciated.
How often do you update?
As much as I can! Which is around 5 days a week at the moment.
How do you get the word out about it?
As well as updating Flair To Remember, I also post on Flickr (Wardrobe Remix) and Chictopia. I also try and comment on my favourite blogs. But, I have to admit I am a little shy about proclaiming my blog to the world as you constantly read articles condemning the narcissistic nature of personal blogging. I don't really want to force people into checking out my blog, but if they find it and can take something from it, the more the merrier!
Describe your fashion style:
Glam rocking & rolling 50's housewife with a 70's free spirit...
I adore vintage style, loads of accessories (particularly vintage gold jewellery - chains/brooches/bracelets/earrings) + beautiful dresses.
What's your inspiration for the blog?
My Nan (and her beautiful photos from the 50's), my Mum (and her gorgeous dresses I inherited from the 70's), old movies, Audrey Hepburn, Twiggy, Edie Sedgwick, vintage magazines/photo shoots, stylists such as Tim Gunn & Rachel Zoe, op shops/retro & antique stores, other style blogs and my readers who make me want to continue blogging. All in all, having my blog motivates me to dress better and make creative choices with what I have.
What do you hope other women take from it?
Inspiration, happiness, motivation + courage to try different things/put yourself out there.
I think this quote that I have on my blog explains this much more eloquently than I can...
"Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
What makes your blog unique?
As every person is unique, every person's style is unique and I think this is the attraction of personal blogs. I have a huge love of vintage (especially bargain buys!) and I incorporate this into my daily style. I also wear my clothes in regular rotation as I love them and work my love of fashion/style into a budget. My wardrobe is definitely affordable, I just try and choose pieces that reflect my personality and suit my body type. I am a really creative person and try to find different ways to incorporate things I love into my style/outfits. Also, I try and put a positive + uplifting feel to my blog to offset the negative/unattainable vibe that is often associated with the fashion industry.
Also, how did you get involved with Chicotopia?
Chictopia is a super fun + inspiring fashion/style community that I have absolutely fallen in love with! I found the site and joined up at the same time as starting Flair To Remember. There is a great community of like-minded people who I have found to be really sweet and welcoming.
In June this year, Chictopia started their 'Style Icon' feature where they promote six users as Style Icons of the month. I was extremely flattered to be chosen as one of the first six and they have been so supportive of me on their site. I have done a guest post for Everybody Is Ugly, been featured on the Teen Vogue site thanks to Chictopia's CEO Helen Zhu and have met some really inspiring girls from all over the world.
I really recommend getting involved with the site as you can choose your level of participation (you don't even have to post photos!), and it's influential style for real everyday people, by real everyday people.
